Coffee Culture

Is there anything better than stepping into a coffee shop and taking in the aroma of freshly brewed coffee? The simple answer is no. For years, coffee culture has been present and has gained popularity. The variety of different coffees that exist today allows for professional barista-style coffees that you can make in the comfort of your own home. However, this does not allow for the same ambiance and effect that small, cozy cafes give off.

Coffee culture relates to " the social atmosphere and social interactions related to coffee and coffee houses," essentially, it is the enjoyment of coffee in neat cafes with people you enjoy spending time with, who hopefully love coffee as much as you do. The origins of coffee culture stem as far back as the 14th century in Turkey, where coffee houses were used for the purpose of social hubs.

Today, coffee shops provide us with a calm and relaxing aesthetic, free WIFI, and in some cases, places to charge our phones. But this isn't their main goal; coffee houses and cafes today aim to provide the public with a calm space where minds can be at ease or a place for you to simply rest after a hectic morning. Besides the fact that we love coffee, our genuine love for the comforting beverage comes from the enjoyable experiences we have in coffee shops whether its doing a bit of work or simply enjoying some much deserved "me time".

Each coffee shop is unique and offers different experiences. Our modern times have allowed for coffee shops on most street corners, malls, and shopping centres. So whether you enjoy an iced latte, espresso, cappuccino, or even French pressed coffee, we can all bond over the fact that we have a love for coffee and hope to share that love for coffee with others in our favourite little cafes.

  2. I'm not a big fan of coffee, but I do love going to a coffee shop with my friends! As you said here, they provide a calm environment for us to go to after a busy day and that is very relaxing!
